Owen Smith Psychology
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. You may be struggling with anxiety, stress, burnout, low mood, overthinking or self-criticism, and finding it difficult to break free from patterns that leave you feeling stuck.
Therapy provides an opportunity to better understand these difficulties, make sense of your experiences, and develop practical ways of moving forward. I offer professional online therapy for adults across the UK, providing a supportive and collaborative space to help you create meaningful and lasting change.
I understand that reaching out for support can feel like a significant step. My aim is to provide a space that feels both professional and approachable, where you can speak openly about your experiences without fear of judgement. I value building a strong therapeutic relationship and believe that meaningful change is most likely to occur when therapy feels collaborative, supportive and tailored to your individual needs.
About Me
I have worked as a psychologist within the NHS for over 6 years, most recently as a Clinical Psychologist. This has included time spent working with people of all ages, though predominantly within adult mental health in which I have extensive experience delivering CBT-based interventions.
I offer online therapy for adults experiencing a range of difficulties. Working remotely means I am able to provide support to individuals across the UK. I focus on providing a space that feels safe, supportive and professional. Therapy is tailored to your individual needs, but typically involves developing a clearer understanding of patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, and learning strategies to manage these more effectively
I am registered with the Health Care and Professionals Council (HCPC).

What difficulties I work with
I mainly work with people who are struggling with a variety of anxiety disorders e.g. Social Anxiety and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, as well as those impacted by low mood, low self-esteem, stress and burnout. Treatment involves working together to understand how you difficulties developed and what keeps them going, before learning ways to increase your confidence in managing how you feel more effectively.
What therapies I offer
While Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) often forms the foundation of my work, I also draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), tailoring treatment to your individual needs, preferences and goals. In your first session, we'll have a chance to explore what brought you to therapy and then decide on the most appropriate ways to help you make the changes you want.
